Date & Walnut Balls

Out of snacks for the kids, or need a healthy snack to cure three thirty’itis?

These date and walnut balls are the easiest and best snack you’ll ever make, all you need is 4 ingredients and a blender of some description.

Ingredients

1 cup of dates

1 cup of walnuts

1/4 cup of Cacoa

Some desiccated coconut for decorating

NB. Add additional dates to sweeten up until the midgets get used to the bitterness of cacoa

Method

Chuck everything into the blender and mix until combined (I know mine are ready when my blender starts to smoke). You may need to stop blending a couple of times and jiggle the mixture up in order to blend everything evenly.

Place your desiccated coconut into a bowl and let the kids take over from this part, mine love it and I find if they have made the food themselves they are more likely to eat it.

Now roll the mixture into small balls, cover them in coconut and refrigerate for a couple of hours before devouring.

2 hours later… Grab a cuppa, sit on the couch and enjoy!
